Our client is seeking a seasoned professional Technical Writer for a contract position in Olympia, WA.  The perfect candidate will have prior experience documenting business processes and should be able to communicate with staff at all levels of technical understanding.  While candidates with Bachelor degrees in Communication, Journalism, Literature or English are encouraged to apply, it is not considered a requirement.&#xD;
&#xD;
RESPONSIBILITIES&#xD;
&#xD;
* The contractor must be able to interview specific knowledge workers and create system and application documentation that includes process flow diagrams, operational instructions and help documentation.&#xD;
* Contractor must have the ability to communicate with non computer-technical and computer-technical staff both orally and in writing. Strong analytical skills and good customer communication skills are mandatory.&#xD;
* The contractor will be responsible for the development and refinement of technical documentation for use by a technical audience.&#xD;
* The contractor will be responsible for descriptive documentation of technical and non-technical processes for a non-technical audience.&#xD;
* The contractor will document the various mainframe security systems in use at client from an Operational viewpoint and from that information develop a security analyst desk manual.&#xD;
* Contractor must be able to track and report status on task assignments. Contractor may be required to participate in team meetings.&#xD;
* The contractor is expected to have ethical standards of conduct, integrity and honesty. Experience working in a highly diverse and political environment as a team member with customers and staff.&#xD;
* The contractor is expected to produce a product that is acceptable to the Data Management Services Manager and complies with all Office of Information Technology standards for development and quality.&#xD;
&#xD;
REQUIREMENTS&#xD;
&#xD;
* Minimum 3 years experience documenting business processes involving software, data and human interaction.&#xD;
* Able to create project documentation to include process diagrams, operational documentation and help documentation.&#xD;
* Ability to track and report status on task assignments. Ability to communicate with non computer-technical and computer-technical staff both orally and in writing.&#xD;
&#xD;

The group is composed of senior database engineers (SQL Server) and test engineers who this person will interview and cooperate with to develop docs.  The team works in an Agile, Test Driven Development environment.  The documentation will detail the release process, and document interfaces which are mainly in C#/Web Services.&#xD;

* Create release documents for a senior level engineering audience.&#xD;
