I'm preparing my inventory for the busy summer festival season and need assistance making hair falls. I'm looking to hire a part-time assistant who is interested in creating and selling costumes and accessories. This job is a bonus for someone who needs a creative outlet. I am also looking for a sales assistant and a person to sew leather gauntlets. A multi-tasker who can "wear different hats” is ideal. The primary job entails sitting in my Fremont home/studio flexible evenings working with wool and synthetic hair. I'm looking for someone who can work flexible evenings, three times a week in 4 hr shifts. Anytime chunk between 4:00pm-12am week days are my most productive hours but I’m flexible. Days and weekends OK too. There are many aspects of production from cutting & sorting, wet felting, lots of braiding, steaming synthetic hair and some wire work. You need not have experience in these things. I will train you but I am looking for someone who is accustomed to doing hand work. Experience with crochet, knitting or sewing is a plus. I'm also looking for a sales representative to travel with me to some of the shows I'm doing posted on my Tribe Blog (Faerieworlds especially). I need help setting up/ decorating/ loading out my booth, selling & taking orders from customers. This is primarily a sales position and requires a flair for doing people's hair and encouraging dress-up. This person must be very friendly and charismatic and feel comfortable dressing people. I will pay $9.00 for the hours you actually work, your ticket, and your meals during your shift and do what I can to make your camping situation comfortable.....then you can play and enjoy the festival in your time off........a working vacation. * I will consider this Sales person consigning some of their own work at the shows with me if it goes with my lines and does not conflict with my Festival vending agreement. A worker who can sew gauntlets and leather bracelets. Must have experience sewing leather, a good design sense and a portfolio I can see. Patience for hand beading is also important. There is quite a bit of creative freedom in making these items. These will be test products so this might be work on a one time batch...we'll see. This is piecework priced according to difficulty of project and what is negotiated. * Having your own machine that you are familiar with is a plus. I have one to use at my studio but this work can be made at your own home and paid for as piecework if you prefer.... My assistant must be able to work while watching movies and work quickly with attention to detail. U Bring 2 movies to watch while you work.
